Fun Fishing with Capt. Brian 12-28-2010

Fun fishing it was today. I had they day off today so I called Brian to see if he wanted to pole the redfisher around for a few hours. It was chilly and windy today but it was also sunny and that was all that was needed. We were fishing in around a foot of water and looking for hungry redfish. They were is smaller groups today but they were hungry. All fish were caught on soft plastics during the daytime. Then an hour before dark I switch to a top water Zara spook jr. . Man is it fun catching an upper slot redfish in freezing weather in the middle of winter on a top water lure. We had a few double today as i would hook one and Brian would fire from the poling platform. What a blast it was today. I love the clear water we get every winter from Jan. until March.

12-20-2010 Fishing with Andy from N.Y.C.

12-20-2010 Fishing with Andy, his brother and there father

It was a little chilly today but the fish were hungry. Andy was down from New York City and was hoping to try some local fish again. We started the day catching a ton of sheephead. It was a bite as soon as the crab hit the water. It usually takes a little practice to catch a sheephead but after I should them a few tricks the were pulling them into the boat on every cast. After they had a few for the table we went looking for some redfish. We found a few different schools up in the creeks. We then went looking for some bigger redfish along the intracoastal. We found them and they had a blast on these bigger fish. One last spot that I knew of to try for that really big redfish. Andy casted at the oyster mound and was rewarded with a monster. Ten minutes later he had the redfish boat side. You might have to have an extra jacket this time of year but the fish are schooled up and hungry.
