I had a great group of guys from Florida and California that were in town for a little fun and fishing. We started the day out with some perfectly calm conditions as we have had for the last week. There were tail and backs all around us. I had Frank throwing the Zara spook and the other two with some minnows and shrimp. Frank had some huge hits but nothing was able to stay on the hooks. Mike was able to catch his first ever redfish. After some smaller redfish it was time to go look for some larger fish. Well we found them. We had a great double of a 28" over sized redfish and a perfect 26" redfish. That was fun keeping the lines from going near each other. They did a great job and we got both of the fish into the boat. Not to long after that we put a nice 21.5' trout into the boat as well. After catching a few more we continued to go looking for a few larger fish. We caught some black drum , a shark and a nice 27.5" and 26" redfish as well as some smaller redfish. The wind was starting to howl and it was time to get back to the docks. What a great time on the water.

Kayak fishing with Action Kayak Adventures 4-20-2011
I Had the afternoon of some it was time to do a little fun fishing with Bart from http://www.actionkayakadventures.com/ . We only had a couple of hours until dark so I put on my trusted Zara spook and paddled to a protected shore line. After spooking 4 redfish in less than 25 feet up in the grass it was time to bail from the kayak and do a little wade fishing. I hadn't walked 50 feet and I see a huge wake coming right at me less than 100 feet away. I throw a perfect cast 5 feet to the side and in front of the wake and it disappears. Two twitches later and there is a huge explosion. What a fight. A nice 28" redfish in a few inches of water on a top water plug. After a few minute fight we got a picture and let him go to fight another day. I picked up a few more sight fished redfish on the Zara spook and then it was Franks turn. He landed one of the biggest trout that I have ever seen. It was somewhere in the 30" range . After a few pictures She was let go to make many baby trout. What a couple hours of fishing from the kayaks. If you want to try something different give Bart a call at http://www.actionkayakadventures.com/
Charter 4-20 2011 with George and his son.
Well it has kind of been a repeat as the last few days. We started the day with a nice school of redfish crushing bait in mere inches of water. We had them all around us for over an hour but every redfish that we got to bite spit out the bait. We did hook up with some really nice size lady fish. It was time to get them on some redfish. We moved around a little bit after catching some smaller sized redfish. We were able to get them on some redfish that really pulled some drag. By now the wind was blowing at over 20 m.p.h. They had a blast. We did pick up some nice trout , bluefish and ladyfish throughout the day.
Charter 4-19-2011 With Brendan and his wife.
What can I say. It has been a week for the ladies. I had Brendan and his wife out for a day of fishing. Ever since the full moon it has been a lot of searching for some quality fish. There has been a really high tide the last few days. With this high water we have been poling the boat trying to get some sight fished redfish. We had an epic fish today. We were in less than a foot
of water and a nice tail pops up around 30 feet it front of us. She placed a perfect cast and the tail is gone. The redfish appears 20 feet in front of us in 7 " of water and is swimming toward her line with her bait 10 feet past the fish. I have her reel as fast as she can ,the jighead goes right past the fishes nose and he pounces on it. She did a perfect job of fighting this fish keeping his head up and out of the grass. After a few minutes we have a nice 26 +" redfish in the boat. We then went on to catch some smaller redfish as well as some flounder and trout. We ended the day with a nice size jack back in the creeks.
Charter 4-18-2011 With Will and his wife
What can I say. Will's wife had the hot hand today. I had Will on quite a few fish but most of them somehow seemed to come unglued. He even had on a nice cobia for a while but it broke the line. We caught some nice redfish towards the end of the day. We had been on some great redfish in the shallows to start the day but we were unable to stay hooked up to them. Will had a nice flounder that was put into the box for dinner. With the super high tide due to the full moon we decided to go off of the beach to look for some cobia. We had one on but all of the rays were swimming by themselves. We did hook up to some big bluefish on every cast until they were tired of catching them. We finish up in shore to put some upper slot redfish on the boat . Another beautiful day on the water.
Charter 4-14-2011 With Anthony and his family.
What a fun day on the water. Again we had some great weather. I had Anthony Dixon and his family out for a half day trip. Anthony is a professional bow hunter. Check out his web site at
http://www.fmpfullmoonproductions.com/ . Well the fishing was been a little slower this week. We are still picking up a few nice fish here and there but some of the smaller fish have slowed down. We had some great redfish as well as a really fat trout. The kids were really happy and I heard his son say it was the happiest day of his life. You've got to love when somebody says that. I am looking forward to seeing them next year to try to get them on a cobia .
Charter 4-12-2011 with Tim and his wife.
It was a little tougher of a day finding fish than last week. We had to move a little more than in the previous few charters. We were able to find some smaller redfish with a few nice ones thrown in. We also had a few small trout and black drum as well. I was able to get Tim to cross of another species of fish off of his list. This was his first black drum.
4-7-2011 Charter with J.P. and his son and friend
What a day of fishing. I am on the water well over 250 days of the year fishing and these are the days we hope for. It was calm winds all day and there were redfish everywhere. I had j.p. and his son and his sons friend out for a half day trip. We started out first thing in the morning. Within 30 seconds of putting the trolling motor in the water we had a nice wake coming right at us. I took the pole and threw it right in front of the fish and redfish on. Unfortunately it cam off after a few seconds of pulling line. Well we had these opportunities the rest of the day. Sometimes I would use the trolling motor to get to the pushing wakes and other times I would pull the boat within range. We had a few sight fished doubles as well. What a blast it is for anyone let alone a 7 year old to watch the redfish eat his minnow in less than a foot of water. The fishing is on fire right now.

Charter 4-4-2011 with Ying and her family
but we postponed it due to the rain. It was there last day of spring break so I wanted to end it with a bang. We had to move around a little here and there due to the boat traffic. They had a great time and everybody was able to catch a few fish. Ben had the large fish of the day which was a 29" redfish. Everyone was able to get there first redfish and there biggest redfish ever. What a great day on the water.
Charter with Laura and her birthday man 4-2-2011
The only thing that I can say about today's fishing was wow! What a day. Laura had big fish of the day. A huge redfish for the backwaters. we were along an oyster shoreline and you could see a lot of redfish swimming the bank. all of the sudden I spot the first shark of the season. It was only about three feet long, but it had a tag in it. We tossed a few different bait at it but it was not interested. That was the first tagged shark that I have ever seen. After catching a ton of redfish on the flats and in the creeks we went looking for a few other species. We went to a little deeper water and we caught sheephead, blackdrum, bluefish, flounder and ended the day with another fat redfish. This was fishing as it is supposed to be.
Charter with John and his son 4-1-2011
Another amazing day of fishing. It is spring time in full effect. There are redfish abound and they are hungry. I had John out again and his son was home from Georgia Tech for spring break. They took turns catching some upper slot and over size redfish today. They even had a few double hook ups as well. John had the big fish of the day that took him to the line backing and we had to chase the redfish for a little ways. After that they were ready to call it a day. What a blast as always taking John out.
Kayak trip 3-29-2011
My trip cancelled to due to the rain. So when I have a day off it is time to go fishing. There was some serious weather that came thru today including tornado warnings and hail reports. There was a break in the weather after 6 p.m. so I called my friend Bart and said lets go catch some trout. My friend just started a kayak fishing charter bussiness. He just got some really nice kayaks loaded with all of the toys. There was a lot of wind and some serious clounds still in the sky so I knew it was time for some top water action. I am still new at this kayak fishing deal so it was a learning experience. As soon as we put the boats in there were some nice redfish pushing wakes. We were in 8 " of water. I only had a few different top water lures with me. I tried to catch a few of the redfish but they were very scared of my lures. Next time I will make sure I have a few weedless jigs with me. Well we left the redfish and went looking for some trout. we had a ton of blow up and landed some nice size trout. What a blast it is to catch these fish on top water. Here are a few pictures of the better ones. If you ever want to try out some kayak fishing give Bart a call at (321)231-9450. He lives here locally but his phone number is from Orlando. He has been fishing in this area for over 11 years and he knows the area very well and his kayaks are super comfertable.
Charter with tim and his wife 3-25-2011
What a beautiful day on the water. It was light to moderate winds all day so polling the new boat was in order. We saw a ton of redfish today. There were groups of fish from 2 fish to over fifty fish. All the redfish we caught today were sight fished. The biggest was somewhere around 28". We even caught a nice 23" directly at the nose of the boat after they were unable to spot the group of fish heading our way. I told her to just drop the jig off of the front of the boat and she was hooked up. Nothing like catching a nice redfish in less than two feet of water 5 feet from the boat. After casting to a ton of redfish we went looking for some trout. We were able to locate a handful of them but they were all under 18". This new Dragonfly boat is as silent polling as they make them.
