I had Ty and his son Tyson for a trip today. What a beautiful day on the water. Calm wind and sunny skies were the order of the day. It was my first charter on my new boat. We started out going for some sheephead with the higher tide. We caught a few smaller ones so off to go look for some redfish. It was a full moon last night so there was a super high tide. We fished some drop offs and located some smaller redfish. We then went onto the flats and saw a few singles but we were not able to get the cast that was needed and did not get the hook up. We saw a decent amount of some nice redfish but they just did not want to eat. We went to some deeper holes and picked up a ton of smaller redfish, some keeper and under size black drum and a keeper flounder thrown in the mix. We then went and tried for some larger sheephead again but we only found smaller ones. We ended the day with keeper redfish, black drum and flounder. What a beautiful day and great company. Hopefully Ty will be able to make it back down for the cobia run in the spring! Should be a great week on the water so get out there and have some fun.
