What a difference 24 hours can make on the bite. We were able to get a limit of redfish within the first 45 minutes. These fish were hungry this morning. We had double digits of upper slot redfish . We also had some really nice flounder and trout thrown in the mix. We fished a few different schools and decided to go look for some drag screaming fish off of the beach. It did not take long until we had a double hook up of some decent sharks. These fish were fun, in the 50-80 pound range. We weeded through the 4-6 footers until dean hooked into a big boy. He had an 8 foot spinner shark that jumped at least 6 feet into the air numerous times. After a bunch of sharks we decided to go back in shore to catch a few more flounder. We did well on the flounder and with the last hour we decided to go look for some tarpon. We had a mystery fish on that eventually broke us off on some docks a few hundred feet away. We never saw it jump but we had tarpon rolling around us and this fish was screaming drag. It was one of those days out there today. I know every bodies arms will be hurting tomorrow.

Charter July 22 w/Dave and his wife
What another beautiful day on the water. I had Dave out again for a half day trip. He decided to bring his wife along today. I have been on some really good redfish and today was no different. Only today they did not want to bite. We saw redfish everywhere pushing wakes but the majority of the were not interested in us. We were able to pick up two really nice redfish and a handful of smaller ones. We also picked up a few flounder and trout as well. Since the redfish were not wanting to play we decided to go off of the beach and catch some big fish. We did not see any tarpon but we were able to catch all of the big sharks that we wanted. After a couple each they were beat so we called it a day. It was as calm as a lake out there and a great day of fishing in Saint Augustine.

Charter July 21, 2011 w/ Ron and Cyndi
What a fun trip today. I had Ron and his wife Cyndi out for a half day trip. We started out at sunrise and it was a beautiful day. Nice calm conditions and not a boat in sight. Well the fish were chewing. We had a bunch of redfish, trout and flounder; and that was in the first hour of the trip. I had gone out yesterday to do a little prefishing for today's trip. It was a little tuff to locate fish so I went to a spot that I had not been to in over a year. It was a high tide so I went up onto a flat that I knew about. Well there were redfish everywhere. I sat there for a little while studying the fish. I left them alone and planned on trying to locate them on my trip at low tide. Well It worked. We slowly made our way into the creek. We made sure to do long casts not to spook the fish. Well we were getting fish on every cast. They both did a great job on keeping the fish away from the boat and the oysters. We did lose a few but they were able to catch a bunch. We then left these fish and went and chased another school of redfish around for a while. The next school was right where they were supposed to be but after Cyndi caught a nice 26" they decided to stop biting so we called it a day. This was there first time salt water fish so I am sure they are hooked now.

July 10 2011 charter w/ Rodger,Tom, Riley
What another amazing day of fishing. I had four client today so the top water was out of the question. We started out catching a few ladyfish. Then the drag started screaming. After 10-15 minutes we had a huge bonnet head shark upto the side of the boat. He took one last run and broke him on the motor. We it was time to go chase some trout. We managed a few small trout but nothing to write home about. Since the tide was dropping I figured that it was time to go look for some redfish. Well we found them. We took turns casting making sure that everyone was able to get there shot at a big redfish .We had close to double digit keepers again today with a bunch of 15-18" throw in the mix. What an awesome day of fishing. This is defiantly the week of the kids.
July 8 2011 charter w/ Kelly,Will, and Papa John
I had Kelly and his son Will along with his father in law Papa John. The bite was on fire once again. We had double digits of keeper redfish today. Will had the hot hand. We would cast in between his dad and grandfather and still come up the winner. We had over size redfish, keeper redfish and undersize redfish. We also got on a great flounder bite as well. The flounder are not huge but they are in the 15-18" range. I hope the fish stays this way for the next few months. It is a pure blast.
July 7 2011 charter w/ Urban and his son
I had Urban and his son out for a half day trip. Well now that the fish have mellowed down from the holiday weekend it is back to a great bite. I lost count of how many redfish we caught today. There was a keeper redfish on just about every cast. It was so much fun watching the wakes cruise the shore line, throwing in front of them and watching the water explode on your bait. They also caught some trout, flounder, jacks, and ladyfish thru out the day. We went off of the beach to look for some sharks or cobia but mother nature was not on our side today. There was a decent ground swell and not a fish in sight. It is amazing what 24 hours can do. Well we finished up the day catching some drag screaming jack and having a few break offs as well. I love fishing this time of year.
July 6 2011 charter with Ty and friends
I had Ty out again for a full day of fishing. Today he brought a few friends along. We started out throw some top water. We had some nice redfish and trout as well as some ladyfish and bluefish. After the sun came up we decided to go look for some redfish. Well we found them. I am not sure how many we caught but the we on fire. There was a nice school pushing down the bank and we would throw out in front of then and have an instant hook up. For a while we were catching redfish, trout and flounder on every cast. After we had all of the inshore fish that we wanted it was time to go catch something big. We went out in the ocean and had a great shark bite. Ty had on that took over an hour to land on 65 pound braided line. I believe it was a big lemon shark. At one point we had a double hook up of sharks and a big manta ray swam up to us with a few cobia on him. So after the epic battle of the big shark we decided to go chase some cobia. We had 8 fish upto 50 pounds with a ton of misses. Ty is defiantly a fish magnet. It doesn't get any better than this.
July 5 2011 charter w/ Ty and Tyson
What a beautiful day on the water. I had repeat clients Ty and his son Tyson out for a full day trip today. They have been going with me a few times a year for a few years now. They are always a good luck charm when it comes to catching the fish. Tyson had the hot hand today. He had a few flounder with one being over five pounds. He had a bunch of redfish with one being around the 20 pound mark. Ty had a few nice redfish as well. We also caught some trout as well as some other mixed bags. The will be taking there catch to Cellar 6 to have the chef cook up a great meal.
July 4 2011 charter w/ Jon and his son
I had Jon and his son out for the holiday. We started before the crowds picked up. It was a pretty tuff bite today. I think that with the holiday weekend the fish were a little spooky. We were still able to put a really nice trout and some smaller redfish and trout as well as a few mixed species. It was a beautiful way to start the holiday.
July 3 2011 charter w/ David,Bradley,Brandon
Today I had David and his sons Bradley and Brandon. We started out nice and early to throw some top water and popping corks. We had a few big blow ups and some trout and lady fish. We then moved around a little bit. Around 8 a.m. we found the fish chewing. They caught a big over-sized trout as well as a monster redfish that put up a great fight. We caught a few more redfish and called it a day.
