charter 04-14-2012 w/ Chris and his mom and daughter

Today I had Chris and his mom and his daughter Diana out for a half day trip. Well we had a front move in and is was super windy. There were also 3 inshore fishing tournament going on today as well. I know that I need to get out of the wind and away from all of the boats to get on some fish today. Well the first spot was a winner. We were able to put some great fish on the boat. We has a really nice trout for the first fish of the day and followed it up with a nice pulling redfish after that. Diana had some huge hits and drag screaming runs but unfortunately the fish kept swimming at the boat and she was unable to keep up with them and they spit the hook. Well it was time to get her on some fish so we moved to another spot. She got a nice trout and a redfish to go along with it. By now the wind was howling. I really wanted to get her a north east slam so we concentrated on getting her a flounder. With a little time to spare she hooked up with a flounder and was able to get her first slam. What a great feeling. Thanks guys.

Charter 04-13-2012 w/ Dean and his crew

Dean is a good luck machine. He has been with me a few times over the years. He started the day by reminding me how well we did the last time that they went out. Great, now the pressure is on. I sent out a message to my redfish friends to make sure that they ate and they did. I think we had somewhere around 12-15 keeper redfish with a bunch of flounder and trout as well. It was non stop action all day. It was some great redfishing again as always. Keep bringing me that luck.

Charter 04-12-2012 w/ Mark and family

I had Mark and his 2 boys out today. It is amazing that sometimes the wind can just kill a bite. The day started off very windy today. We searched a few places with a very slow bite. Then the wind died down for 30 minutes and the creeks came alive. We had wakes all around the boat. We were able to get a few casts into the hole and when the wakes came near us, fish on. They were able to get 2 nice redfish before the winds picked back up and the bite slowed down again. It was a tough bite but a fun day none the less.

Charter 04-11-2012 w/ Harvey and family

The fishing started out great and it only got better from there. The redfish were again feeding like there was no tomorrow. We had a fish on the first cast and on the last cast. Everybody was able to get in on the action today. They also got one of the larger bluefish of the year which was able to burn some great drag.

Charter 04-10-2012 w/ David, Nolan, and Brionna

Thank goodness that the wind is finally done. The redfishing was back on fire today. Everybody was able to get there largest redfish that they have ever caught today. We had a few that were pushing the 10 pound mark. It was just a beautiful day and the redfish were very happy as well.

Charter 04-06-2012 w/ Robert and his family

Today I had Robert his dad and his son. The front that came thru yesterday was making it very windy. It was a very tough bite but we were still able to find a few fish that were still a little hungry. It is amazing what 24 hours can do to the fishing but I know that there was one very happy 8 year old today.

Charter 04-05-2012 afternoon trip w/ Dave

I had an afternoon fly fishing trip. Unfortunately there was a front on the way and the great morning weather was gone and the wind was upon us. It was a fly only trip. Dave had been to different parts of Florida in the past to try and get a redfish on fly but had been unsuccessful. It was my turn to help him succeed. The winds were blowing at over 20 m.p.h. but I knew where some hungry redfish were hanging out. After a miss or two he connected with a middle slot redfish and had his first redfish on fly. It was a great feeling helping somebody achieve there goals of getting there first redfish on fly. Maybe next yer I will be able to get him his first tarpon on fly.

Charter 04-05-2012 w/ Scott and Jace

WOW! I should end the report there. Today was one of those days where everything just goes together. We started off the morning throwing topwater lures. We had some monster blow ups and put a few decent trout on the boat. We then went and got a bunch of really nice redfish and an over slot trout. All this and we are only an hour or so into the trip. We decided to go and try for an over size redfish. Well we found a fat redfish that was a great fight on 10 pound test. They actually both hooked the redfish in the mouth which was fun to watch both of these guys fight the fish together. Needless to say the redfish did not stand a chance. Not sure who hooked the fish first but both hooks were in the mouth. After that we decided to go try some sight fishing. We found a school of redfish and they each had a turn to watch there redfish eat there bait right next to the boat. That covers most of the redfishing that we have, and they did it all in one trip. What a blast.

Charter 04-04-2012 w/ Hank and his 2 sons

I had Hank and his 2 boys out for a little fishing today. Once again we had another great day of catching som quality redfish. All of the fish today put up some great drag screamimg runs. It is great that the water is getting warmer and the fish are happy and hungry.

Charter 04-03-2012 w/ Phil, Ben, and Ken

Today I had repeat client Phil and he brought his son and father in law. It was another great day of redfishing. The redfish have been really fired up this week. Everyone today got in the action. We have been having some fat redfish and they have been putting up some great fights. Spring fishing is in full swing. Looking forward to next year guys.

Charter 4-02-2012 w/ Peggy and her family

Today I had Peggy, her husband and her son. What a great group. They were in town for spring break. We caught a bunch of really nice redfish with some flounder and trout in the mix. It is always a blast watching a redfish swim by and getting your bait in front of it and seeing your cork dissapear. We were able to see tons of fish today that did not want to play but we were able to get a few to cooperate. I am sure that they had a great spring break.

Charter 3-31-2012 w/ Nick

I had Nick and his father in law out for a little fishing. It was another great day on the water. They caught some really great redfish. We forgot to take pictures so we got some at the marina before they were turned into dinner. We also got a nice flounder. What another fun day on the water

Scouting trip 3-29-2012 Cobia

I caught my personal best cobia today. I am guessing somewhere over 40 pounds.I have had clients get them bigger but I have never got a big one myself. It was the only fish that I saw out there today and it was a free swimmer. I am waiting for the numbers to arrive so that I can get some on my new Galvan Torque 10 weight flyreel. I am ready.

Fly fishing charter 3-28 2012 on the dragonfly paddle board

I had a killer day of flyfishing today. I took out the dragonfly paddleboard for an afternoon sight fishing trip. The reds were fired up. I landed 5 on fly. the biggest was somewhere between 26" and 28" . It was a blast watching all of these fish eat the fly. A few were within 10 feet of the board. You can get so close to these fish on the dragonfly it is awsome. Saint Augustine has some great hidden fly fishing. It is my new favorite way to fish.
