I had Eric and his 14 year old son Alex today. We started out throwing some top water lures as the sun started to rise. We had some monster blow ups and a 5 + pound trout fly a foot out of the water but we were unable to keep any on the hooks. After a few ladyfish we chased the lower tide and poled on a nice flat. We had a bunch of redfish and sheephead tailing all around us but we were not able to make the perfect cast on them so they were left to catch another day. As the tide flooded the flat we went looking for a few big redfish. It was the day of the fish winning. We had 3 brake offs in a row on the big poles. But the forth redfish was going to make it in the boat. After a great fight and the redfish pulling our anchor we had a super fat redfish. It was 35+ " long but it was super fat. He had some football player shoulders on him. The picture does not do this fish justice. It was the fattest redfish to date this season. After that we went and caught a few flounder, bluefish ans some other species. What a great day on the water.
