Well I had Walt and his sons out for one last trip for the week. After spooking the big school of redfish last nigh I knew exactly where to start. I came off of plane and hopped up on the poling platform. Before I was even up there you could see redfish crashing baits everywhere. Walt was first up. We had a nice 26" redfish waking not 30 feet from the boat. I cast over there for him and immediately he was hooked up to a big fish in only a few inches of water. It is so much fun when the fish has the advantage over you. Since there is no where for the fish to run except away from you they make some great first runs. And then when you think the fish is tired and is just about to the boat they really show you what they can do. They will run you all around the boat, But Walt did a great job getting the fish into the boat. Well Walt was nice enough to share the wealth and let his sons try to catch a few as well. The had quite a few shoots at some really big fish but just couldn't get the cast that was need. After a while I decided that we would go to a drop off and have them cast at some oyster mounds. We were able to hook in to a few more upper slot redfish as well as a ton of smaller redfish and a few trout and flounder as well. What a fun week it was fishing with these guys and I look forward to fishing with them next year as well.
